Do I need to provide any documentation?
We understand that not all people recognise that they’re carers. In fact, according to the NHS, it can take an average of two years for someone to even acknowledge their role as a carer. Also, a large proportion of carers don’t have any official documentation stating that they’re a carer. Approx. 90% of carers in the UK do not hold any documentation to prove this but are in need of support. It’s vitally important that we don’t exclude or create barriers to anyone wanting our Carers Card. Therefore, as part of our registration process, we will not ask you to provide any official documentation. However, you will be asked a series of questions which will enable us to validate your suitability for the card. You will also be given the opportunity to connect with your local care organisation or hub should you wish to do so. Not sure if you're eligible? Find out now
Can young carers have this card?
Yes, our card is available for young carers. Any carer over the age of 16 can order their card. For those younger than 16 we ask that a person over 16 applies on their behalf. This is required due to our GDPR policies.
How much is the card?
Our card costs just £8 and is valid for the period of 2 years. This includes our free app that provides access to hundreds of online discounts, plus additional features, tools and services designed to support you in your role as a carer.
How long is the card valid for?
Your card and access to our app is valid for 2 years. Our fee of £8 covers the entire period. There are no additional fees. You will be given advanced warning as to when your card will expire should you wish to renew it.
I look after more than one person do I need more than one card?
No, you only require one card regardless of how many people you care for. When registering for your card you will be asked to enter the details of the person you care for. If this is more than one then enter the details of one of the people you care for. This will allow you to successfully register. Once registered you can add the other people you care for in your account. You can also create an 'emergency plan' for each person.
Why do you have an app?
Our app is the perfect companion to our card. It's a great way to access your digital ID card and all the features available, such as, discounts, wellbeing hub, carer circle, and much more. *You can also access your account online via a pc or mobile browser.
What is a carers ID card?
A carers ID card is a physical card that comes in the shape of a standard credit card. Our card provides access to a variety of different features, tools and services but it's main purpose is to help you identify yourself as a carer. You can use it to inform others, such as shops or attractions, that you look after someone.
Can I register for the card if I care for more than one person?
Yes. When you register for our card you will be asked to provide the details of the "Primary caree". This is the person you provide the most significant or primary care and support to in your life. If you provide equal care and support to more than one caree then you can simply put the details of the eldest person. Once your registration is complete you’ll be able to log onto your account and then add the details of any other people your care for.
How long does it take to register?
Registering for your ID card takes roughly 4 to 5 minutes. If you have a photo of yourself ready to upload then it could take even less time.
What do I need to order my card?
You will need to take a photo during registration or upload one from your device. This will be used on the card itself as part of your identification (much like a driving license or passport). Finally, you will need to have a debit or credit card ready so that you can pay for your card.
Do I have to go to a photo booth to get my ID photo?
No. Just take a picture of yourself (ideally from the shoulders up) using your mobile device. You can use an image already stored on your phone/desktop PC or take a picture when your registering.
Can I amend my details once ordered?
Yes, you can make changes prior to your card being processed and printed. If your card has already been dispatched then any changes made would require us to send you a new card. We do not charge to send a new card.
When will I get my card?
Once you register and make payment your card will automatically be processed and posted out to you. You should receive your card between 7 to 10 working days.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if for whatever reason you want a refund it will be made in full within 24 hours.
Can I purchase more than one card?
Yes. When you purchase your Carers Card you can then purchase a further Carers Card for anyone else that also cares for the same person. You can also purchase additional cards at a later date by logging into your account. This includes our 'dementia' card.

Why do you charge for your carers ID card?
We fully appreciate that caring for someone can place a huge financial burden on a carer’s financial resources. It’s for this reason we have tried to keep the cost of our card as low as possible. It’s important that we cover the costs of producing our ID cards. Costs include; paying our staff to administer the service, server & storage costs, insurance, card production and postage. Reducing the cost of our card further would mean providing a much inferior product which we do not want to do. We also try to offset the cost of our card by providing access to great discounts, offers and perks. We also have regular free giveaways.
Are you fully GDPR compliant?
Yes. We’re absolutely committed to your privacy. Our services will constantly evolve and new features will be added. However, our privacy principles will remain unchanged. We do not share your information with third parties without your explicit knowledge and permission. We will always adhere to any laws that govern our user's rights when it comes to their personal information.
