Weekly Riddle

The Fox, the Goose, and the Bag of Beans

Problem:

Similar to the classic "river crossing" puzzle. You must transport a fox, a goose, and a bag of beans across a river, but the boat can only carry you and one item. The fox cannot be left alone with the goose, nor the goose with the beans. How do you get all across without any being eaten or left unattended?

Solution:

Take the goose across the river first and leave it on the other side. Go back and take the fox across the river. Bring the goose back. Take the beans across. Finally, return alone to get the goose and cross the river one last time.
