Connecting carers

Local authorities and care organisations play a pivotal role in providing additional advice, support and benefits to carers. However, not every carer is aware of this which is why we created Carer Connect. When a carer registers for our card we signpost them to care organisations within their local area. Carers are then free to contact these organisations directly.

Education

We know that not all of our carers know that there's additional help available to help them in their role as a carer. This is why whenever a carer registers with us we always ask them if they have contacted their local authority, care organisation or care hub. If they haven’t then we inform them of the importance of connecting with these organisations in order to provide them with any advice and support they may need. To facilitate this we do our best to signpost (connect) them to organisations in their area. We do this through Carer Connect.

How it works

Whenever a carer wants to connect with their local authority, care organisation or hub we provide them with a list of organisations in their area. They are then free to select the organisation they feel is best for them. Once they select an organisation we simply provide them with details of that organisation. We also provide a link so that the carer can proceed to contact that organisation directly. As part of the process we also inform the organisation that we have signposted our carer to their organisation for additional support, help and advice.

Consent

When a carer registers with us we ask them if they would like to get additional support, help and advice from local authorities, care organisations and care hubs. We always ask our carers for their full consent (in accordance to GDPR) to facilitate our service.
